Description

Remington's proof is his first offspring, Flip A Coin of AJAF, got his name because it was a gamble that clearly was a win in many ways. He took a blue at CABO. He has the most beautiful Suri head on the farm right now, maybe one of the nicest I saw at the show. Plus his locks are bombproof as he always comes in the barn looking like he had just come from a day at the spa. His luster shines through any dust. The locks are definitive and consistent throughout his body and he has all the cute factor at his age that will turn into herdsire factor as he grows. We think he carries grey since his face and neck have silver grey on them, but his blanket is a solid medium fawn. Despite the opportunity to sell or trade him at the CABO show, we are holding onto him for shows as a yearling.
We purchased Remington based on genetics alone despite warnings not to buy without seeing. We knew what Mahogony Prince had done for PVA and we were also familiar with the dam, Honey Bun, out of MacGyver. So we knew the genetics were there and they apparently were. We are excited to use Remington this spring. Remington has a very sweet personality in addition to the beautiful head, excellent confirmation and lovely luster and consistent locks.
So, a quick rundown of the genetics behind Remington: PVA Mahogony Prince was 2x herdsire of the year and a foundation herdsire for PVA. Prince is the highest selling Suri herdsire to date and called "The Headmaster" for his ability to stamp nice typey heads on is crias. Diamonte, his grandson, has a fabulous movie on the PVA website that everyone should enjoy and he sold for $195,000. Diamonte has it all and maybe the best boning I have ever seen on an alpaca. Kobe, the Prince's half brother is still producing those amazing PVA suris. As if a sire like Prince is not enough, Remington's grandsire on his dam's side is none other than Sierra Bonita's MacGyver, 7x herdsire of the year, another, as yet, an unbroken record.
Remington has the comformation and presense that immediately catch your eye on our pasture amidst an awesome MacGyver son, Czardas and SBS Justinfun, whose show record goes on and on as he impressed people with his beautiful appy locks. Bazinga, a Diamonte son and our first Suri, Roberto, who has won Championships in every show he was entered in except for his first where he was in the wrong color class and all but one of those Championships were won as a previously shorn alpaca which is not an easy win against the full fleeced Suris and he won in shows where the competition was always tough. So, against these other boys, Remington holds his own. He is full Peruvian for those for whom that is important. Book a breeding or watch for females for sale bred back to him. If I'm right, you can't go wrong. He is of royal lineage most definitely!
